What can I expect in a therapy session?
The process of therapy is different for each individual. But a commonality is that the therapeutic process is a journey toward increased awareness, insight, and a better quality of life. Therapy is also a process of self-discovery: of one’s potentials, strengths, and innate ability to heal. Our ultimate goal is to foster growth and change, leading to you feeling more comfortable and productive in your life.

Do you provide in-person or online counseling?
It is your choice whether you want counseling sessions conducted via a secure and easy-to-use telehealth platform (similar to Zoom or Skype) or in-person counseling.

What theoretical approach do you use?
I pull from a variety of theories and techniques. I find Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Positive Psychology, Motivational Interviewing, Client-Centered Therapy, and Mindfulness techniques are often helpful for my clients.

Will you just listen or will you actually give me tools? My therapeutic style is much more active and solutions-focused. I will listen to you when you need to vent, and I will also provide you with a myriad of evidence-based tools centered around your needs.

How do I get started in therapy?
Get started by booking a free 15-minute intro call with me here.

In this call, we’ll both be seeing if we’re a good fit to work together. I’ll ask you a bit about what brings you into therapy, tell you about my working style, and give you the opportunity to ask me any additional questions you have. If we deem we’re a good fit, we’ll schedule our first therapy appointment. If we’re not a good fit, I will provide you with a list of referrals for clinicians I believe are better suited to meet your needs.

How long does therapy last?
The short answer is it depends.

Some clients get what they need in 3-6 months. Others want to focus on new goals upon reaching their initial ones. Some people choose to stay in therapy long-term as a place to process week-to-week events.

Therapy is an incredibly individual process. Whenever you feel like you’ve gotten all you need, we’ll discuss wrapping up.

Do you accept checks or credit cards?
Checks/Venmo/Zelle are preferred. However, we also accept all major credit cards.

Do you accept insurance?
We apologize but at this time we do not accept insurance. We would be happy to make a referral to other offices that do.
